Audio Capture on a Mac

Not sure where this topic belongs... so it is going here.



What I a m after is an app that captures audio you are producing on your Mac....



To give you an example, I am writing in Final Draft, and you can assign a "voice" to each character, then you can press play and it reads acts out your script.... I want to capture this audio.



The Final Draft app doesn't allow this... only play/pause/FF/RW and stop. No REC.

    There is an App named Wiretap which will record whatever audio your mac is playing at the time. I sometimes use it to record audio streams of websites such as the bbc and it does the trick admirably.



    Beware though that it will record *all* sounds your mac makes during the recording i.e. warning tones, clicks etc.



    Also it records into AIFF format meaning that the files it creates are quite large - you use compression on the fly which I haven't yet experimented with. I record into AIFF and then use iTunes to convert to AAC.

    I love Wiretap. It's like Grab for audio; no haxies, no configuration, no nothin'.
