portable iPod speakers...?

I'm looking for a nice set of portable iPod speakers (for my mini, mainly) ... but I don't know how to tell speaker-stats from one another.

I'm not so worried about compactness, as i am about loudness. I want it to just be very loud, so I can break(dance) with my friends, without the burden of having to carry around a boombox.

here is what i've been looking over so far:

http://www.alteclansing.com/product_...asp?pID=IMMINI

which is the loudest?

thanks,

deunan

deunan, I've also been looking. I like the looks of the BOSE SoundDock but have not been able to see it other than the internet.

I also like the fact that the JBL OnStage would let me plug my Powerbook into it.

Let us know when you make a decision.

The Altec Lansing speakers also have line-in capabilities. I would highly suggest the inMotion 3 speakers, they sound amazing for their size.

the iM3's (according to www.ipodlounge.com) have a lot of bass, which isn't such a bad thing. But what I'm really looking for is volume & portability, then clarity.

I have the inMotion speakers and find them great (considering they're portable). I'd say go with them or possible the new IM3s (or whatever they're called). From what I've heard they have the same sound quality of the inMotions but also include a remote which could be handy for you.

I just orderd the iM3 speakers from Alter Lansing. Their website claims 24 hours with four AA batteries. Any comment on this battery claim? True or not?

I've heard the In Motion ones... They sound AWESOME to say the least, full bass and great accuracy for a speaker set the size of a paperback book...

Why not take your iPod to a Apple store and try the various speakers they offer for yourself.8)

Wish we had an Apple Store nearby. Memphis is about 5 hours drive, and Comp USA in Little Rock is 3 hours.
