Hi All

just a quick question,

a few months ago Dad bought a 1.25ghz 17" iMac with only 256mb RAM, i told him we can cheaper ram from the local computer store.

but we've never got round to it, and dad was getting fed up with all the freezes, so we want to put in 512mb PC2700 333 RAM.

my question is - does the RAM have to be equal in both banks, ie: 256 in one and 256 in other.

or can we put 512 in one with the existing 256 to make 768 total.

not sure if it's ok, so would appreciate any advice

thanks

You can make 768. But I use the same machine with 1GB of RAM and it is worth it.
