Apple Pro Speakers, Problems?

Hi Guys and Girls!

I order some Apple Pro Speakers and they came in the post yesterday. I connected them in and switched on the computer. Brought up ITunes and hit play and was expecting a good sound out of them.

But only one of the speakers works. My first thought was that the balance was out on the computer (I'm on a dual 867, 10.2) So checked out speaker balance in System Preferences and if I moved it either way I was still getting no sound out of the same speaker.

Left Works fine

Right Doesn't work at all!!!

Is this a common problem? and is there anything I can do to solve this?? or am I going to have to send back to Apple!!!!!!!!

All the internal wires look fine. I recon it DOA? can you get that with speakers? And I recon they got damaged in the post, but they have no marks on them.

PLEASE HELP?????????!!!!! <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

I had exactly the same problem and it was because I didn't have the jack pushed all the way in. It seems to push in so far and click into place, giving sound from one speaker, but it can be pushed in further, giving sound from both speakers. Be sure you don't force it and damage your computer, but check the jack is pushed all the way in.

I've had no problems whatsoever; however, you do need to make sure the speaker's connector is pushed in completely.
