Switching to PB have ?

I am getting ready to buy my first Apple ..PB 15..1.5GHZ...1 gig ram..128mg Ati Video card.My ? is does any one know if Apple will upgrade to a 1.8ghz...and a new dvd spec...video card upgrade...etc..or are they waiting for the G5...any way thanks for your help

    there wont be updates anytime soon, G4 or G5. At the earliest, I would expect an update early December. That would be a minor update though.

    No one ever knows the specs ahead of time (or if they do they don't tell). We can only guess. I think the conventional wisdom is that we won't see a major change to the PB line till MWSF. You always hate to buy something the day before it is updated, however, I think that the PBs are now so good that for most personal use it is hard to go wrong getting a PB now.



    Do you need a really fast PB? I think that unless you need a super fast machine for professional video production or such the current crop of laptops will do fine.



    I bought a 1.25GHz Al PB last year. I think this will suit me fine for at least another year. Even then I would upgrade more from vanity than from need.

    I'd upgrade my 1.25ghz 15.2" if they updated the screens to a 15.4" 1920x1200 HD display. I saw a new Sony A-series and it had an amazing display.



    Did the original Tibook have the same screen as the current Albooks (I think so)?
