iBook 2002 FPS

Can anyone give me some reports on game performance on the iBook 02's? Mobility Radeon Edition. WCIII, Max Payne, MOA:AA... I don't expect much but a slight improvement over my g3 450 Radeon Mac Edition PCI would be nice. I don't mind booting into 9 for improved performance, although that's the only reason I keep 9 installed. I primarily play Warbirds III, Close Combat, R6, RS (which should have no problem on the book) and am hoping to be able to play Ghost Recon once it comes out. Any real world experience would be much appreciated. 700 mhz users preferred as that's what I'm buying. If I don't buy Apple Care I'd also be willing to do an 800 mhz overclock.

Thanks.

An iBook isn't the greatest gaming laptop. You'd be MUCH better off with a TiBook and it's Radeon 7500 card.

If you do get an iBook though, you'll have to stick with 640X480 gaming. A TiBook would allow you to go as high as 1024X768, but not eveyone can afford a nice Ti.

I'd guess between 30 and 50 FPS in most of these games, with a little tweaking.

The iBook's CPU has 512KB of l2 cache running at full speed, so it's no slouch. If you can find the original CHUD tools for overclocking I'd appreciate it

Quake III runs fine on my 600DVD (previous model) with 512 RAM. I can play online multiplayer with 6-8 guys at a good detail level (thru my TV!) with no problems.

Admittedly my PIII600 Desktop blows this away but it does have a Voodoo5 as opposed to a Rage128 so you really cant blame the ibook.
