OS X Server, Edu. & the hacks in marketing

So, I've been planning to purchase a Power Mac sometime after the various heat/technical issues are cleared up. However, I also wanted to get OS X server for myself (I'm an edu individual). Since Panther, the only way to get Server for $249 was the preinstalled option with a Power Mac.

Well, not anymore. I just got off the phone with a (helpful) sales rep and the only way to get Server is a boxed version through the retail online store for $499 or through the business store for $464. (35 whole dollars off!? Gosh!!)

It's stunning; almost as if the twits who make these decisions don't want Apple to sell Apple products!

Well I'm off to download a couple of Linux ISOs... for free.

DO YOU HEAR THAT, STEVE!? YOU COULD HAVE HAD ANOTHER $250 IN THE TILL, BUT NOW YOU GET NOTHING!!

Screed ...grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
