Help for a Pal Near Wigan

Pal with dyscalculia just bought an eMac. He loves it but wants to throw it through a window. Best guess is he has a panic attack when he works on it plus wants to do all that he's seen me do on my G5 without the intervening 12 year's experience.

The nearest MUG is Blackburn. Does anyone have any help or advice to offer, as I'm a bit too far away to hold his hand?

Best thing to tell him is that it takes time and patience to learn new things, and that it's nearly impossible to completely screw up a computer past the point of no return, especially an eMac. There's always undo, there's always a way back.

But, yes support nearby can make a big difference. If they have a .Mac account, there's some great tutorials up there as well.

Wish I could help more, but in the end, it's up to your friend to learn what he needs on his own. Speaking as someone with a learning disbility (Dysgraphia and Dyslexia), I'm sure he already has those necessary skills.
