iTunes bug

Is there a bug in iTunes stopping you creating a shortcut for the Zoom feature (the mini player). I created the shortcut using the system preferences 'keyboard and mouse' pane but the shortcut just makes the window bigger in its existing format and doesn't toggle between mini and window. Has anyone managed to make this work or is it a bug?
