External HD Recommendations

I'm in the market for a new external HD and I'm wondering what is important to get.

I'd like either a 120 or 160GB, FireWire 400 (800?), for under $200.

I like the LaCie d2 Extreme at 120GB with FW400/800, but it only has 2MB of cache. @ $160 or 160GB @ $190

The Maxtor 160GB OneTouch looks good, but only has FW400, but has 8MB of cache. @ $180

I do relatively little video work, use a PowerBook Al, and have an iPod (which would use up a FireWire port, so the drive should have one, if I even sync or let charge while I have the HD hooked up.

So, how important is the cache size? Is it worth FW800?

Any recommendations for HDs specifically are also welcome.

8MB Cache is probably much more useful than FW800, IMO as far as overall speed.

I'm guessing there's better deals out there, but here's a 200GB OneTouch for $180 before shipping:

Lacie Big disk. Own 4 of them. Couldn't be happier. (also couldn't be poorer)

I already bought the drive mentioned above. Good deal. Kinda funny actually since the 180GB model was $20 or $40 more. I don't know what I'll do with 200GB, so it should be a worthwhile investment longterm. Especially if I move of this PowerBook or/and get the Production Suite.
