i have a mix of mp3s/aac files in my computer. i am running out of space on my computer, because i have so much music. i'm wondering if i convert my mp3 files to aac files, will the sounds quality be diminished because of the conversion, or will it stay the same, with a smaller filesize?

The space savings might not be worth putting a compressed format through another conversion. You might be better off to get another HD if you can or take some items off your HD and back them up to CD ROM.

Anytime you REcompress, you lose quality. So MP3-> AAC would lose some.

But, if you can rerip from the original CDs, as AAC, you'll find a substantial reduction in size for the same, or better, sound.
