Advice...

Well- I've placed my order for my new iMac (awhile ago). I've read the benchmarks on bearfeets (or whatever) and I began thinking about getting a tower instead... I'd like the expandability, but I'm not sure what I'd use it on.



Is it possible for me to get a G5 tower (any speed) and a 17" LCD for under $1900? I'm not even sure if this is even possible, but I don't care if they're refurbished or not...



Or should I just suck it up and wait out for my iMac?

    That's a tough question. I think you'll have a difficult time finding any refurbished G5 PowerMacs (been refreshing the Apple Special Deals page daily for some time now ), but if you did you might be able to keep that + a monitor under $2K.



    I've put my name on a waiting list for 20" iMacs but I'm still not 100% sure I'm going to get it. I'd like to get it so I can retire my old PC, but I'm not totally convinced the iMac is the computer for me. Oh well, I'm sure it'll be awhile before I get a call telling me they have one in stock!
