Does flaky logic board effect battery?

My wife has a 12inch G3 900MHz iBook that has had the logic board replaced once already. Recently her battery just quit. It showed no charge and would not charge. The wierd part is I plugged it in this morning and went to work and she called to ask if I bought her a new battery because it was fully charged and working fine?!!!

    If the problem with the logic board involved the battery circuitry, or had some effect to short the battery, perhaps through some resistance, would indeed be a problem.



    One possibility is that there was a faulty component that broke, and in doing so messed up the logic board and the battery. I've seen this happen before, at least in prototype electronics that I've built.
