I actually know someone who was involved with that game, he's listed in the credits, though, thinking about it, it might have only been NHL '94
The one for SNES, somehow, wasn't as good. I don't know why, but I do know that I am correct. NES Ice Hockey has nothing on NHL96. NHL96 is the perfect blend between wholesome, ice hockey strategy and playability. It was nice and simple, but not oversimplified. Plus, it features the best team sport in the world. That's a simple fact.
If that's not manna from heaven in the form of a video game, I don't know what is.
For those of you who come from places where hockey isn't played much recreationally, I am truly sorry. It's like being born in the third world, in that it sucks to live in the 3rd world, and you can't choose where you're born. Anders is from Denmark. I can understand that he may have taken an early liking to building modular furniture or gawking at hot, blonde chicks, but those are the unfortunate circumstances of his birth, which do not leave him exempt from wimpdom.
The Danes do have some kick-ass wind power generation offshore, IIRC.
His games are probably more environmentally friendly wrt power.
That may be true, but it does not save him from wimpdom. Some wimps can still lead fulfilling, environmentally sound lives, despite their trying circumstances.
Now, how could you know that the exact same game was not as good, when you didn't even know it existed.
But, I played NHL hockey 94, 96 and 98 for the SNES, they were some of my favorite games, I played 96 all night many times.
Here's why: They were two different games. So NHL Hockey as I know it and liked it did not exist for the SNES. There were slight differences. I think that EA outsourced the development of the game for SNES, and something happened in the process. Regardless, I'd have to put the SNES version up there at the number 2 spot, since, after all, it captured most of the essence. But you couldn't make create-a-players nearly as good, so that's a big downside. Everybody loves the create-a-player.

Oh, and of course Anders should be banned. DOOM is of course the best game of all time, not MYST.
