Is this normal for a second hard drive?

I installed an additional hard drive in my 933Mhz Quicksilver 2002 Powermac last night.



Is it normal for it to take longer to "spin up" than the original hard drive?



After I awake the computer from sleep it takes a a couple of extra seconds for the second drive to awake.

    Yes, some drives simply take longer to spin up.



    My SCSI drive takes some odd twenty seconds to get up to full speed whereas my IDE drive is ready in half the time.
