If an iPod mini can hold 1000 songs--how many hours of music does this represent--I want to use it to record some classical music cd's.
The 1,000 song number assumes 5 minute songs encoded as 128k AAC, so it amounts to about 5,000 minutes. If you use a different bitrate or encoding, that will obviously change.
Also, the efficiency of compression depends on the material, so the best anyone can give you is a broad approximation.
