Whoa,. this is cool.

Looks like something right out of a B&O catalog.

That is not a computer. It is a souped up Tivo.

$4700 for a souped up Tivo? It certainly does cater to the B&O crowd. I personally think that all TVs should have Tivo's built in. It improves your TV veiwing habits, and most likely reduce the amount of TV you DO watch. it's the natural progression, like making all TVs cable ready in the 80/90's.

Well looks like Sony will be the only computer to have at least 1 of the requirements of Longhorn.

    Hehe.

I hope Apple has some plans to merge TV and computers despite the anti-TV/Computer-Merging crowd on AI and Steve Jobs.

    I think I'll stick with Sky+

(for those outside the UK, Sky+ is PVR done properly)

    it's ugly

so called functional late 70's early 80's non-design.

you know what kind of pants you have to wear to match something like that?

or how your wife or girlfriend has to look like?

It's sony so you know the UI and software will totally suck. I don't trust any company other than Tivo or Apple to give me a good UI "and" functionality.

I doubt it. They did the Mac TV way back in the 68030 days, and it flopped.

Er, it flopped in the general market because it was an all in one with a 13" screen. Ie, you had to use it as your 13" TV, period.

But in the *target* market, dorms, and such, it was a *huge* hit. Even came with a remote. Was computer, 13" TV, and CD player, in one package.
