hello

i just recently had a rev.a beige g3 desktop dropped in my lap. Im planning on adding more ram and getting a firewire/usb card. Right now i am running 9.1 but will eventually go to 10.2.

Any recommendations on a firewire/usb card would be greatly appreciated.

thankyou

Just installed a Belkin card (F5U008-MAC I think). Has two USB and two Firewire ports. So far so good.

My machine is a PowerComputing 225. Its got all kinds of upgrades in it. Sonnet 500 Mhz processor upgrade, ATI Radeon, RAM, etc. If this card works on my machine, I can't imagine too many others that it won't work on.

So far the USB works, but I don't have anything yet to plug in via firewire, so...

Just make sure that you download all necessary drivers from Apple. The drivers aren't model specific, when it comes to the card.

Consider Sonnet's <a href="http://www.sonnettech.com/product/tempo_trio.html"; target="_blank">Tempo Trio</a> it has Firewire, USB 2.0 and dual ATA 133 channels on it. Sounds like a real space saver to me, however I have not used one so I can't tell you anything about compatibility. All the cards are the same (you don't even need a "Mac" card), so get the cheapest one that has the features you want.
