$999 iMac!?!
MacMall hac the base iMac for $999 when you buy RAM. is this really a good deal? the wording has me confused. Does this mean they are clearing way for new models?

I'm sure they're probably trying to get rid of the iMacs. They're $999 after a $150 rebate so it sure looks like a good deal.
Basically you'll end up paying $1,200.00 for an iMac with CD-RW and 640MB of RAM.
Of course that's the price after a couple of mail-in rebates. I hate those. I think they rely on people like me who always forget to send in the rebate.
Could this mean that the 15" LCD iMac is soon to be EOL'd?

So, could be...

It isn't $999, it's $1168. It's still less than the apple store price, plus you get more RAM. It's like they're giving you a 512 RAM chip for $20. But that's pretty standard fare.
No biggie, just a pretty good deal on extra RAM.
