Lost functions in Safari..

I accidentally formatted the drive that had Safari on.

I have reinstalled all the software i could remember but..

When I 'control+click' on an image now only two options are available.

(Save Image as or Copy Image to Clipboard)

But I used to have more and I don't know why.

The one I miss most was 'download image' which just copied the picture to the desktop without opening a dialogue box asking me where I wanted it saved to or what I wanted to name it.

Does anyone know what I should do to get that back? I can't seem to find anything about it in prefs and nothing on Apple's discussion board.

Are your contextual menu options equally limited in other apps and finder?

If there is similar loss of function in other implementations of right-click elsewhere across your system, then it isn't a Safari issue.

Contextual menu apps and add-ons are available here and other places.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the idea about checking elsewhere...

Other CMI's seem okay...I only have a problem in Safari. I guess the fact that everyone didn't just say 'yeah we can do that' may mean its a function I added...I just cant remember doing it.

I looked on the link and at Version Tracker and couldn't find what I was after. I wonder if it was part of the A Better Finder Rename package? I used to have that before the wipe.

The only addition I've made to my Safari was the Debug Menu.

IIRC, the contextual menu option to save was present in my default install before that.

It also depends on the image that you are trying to get. Gif's only allowed about half of the options of jpeg and tiff. I don't know why but that the way it is.

My options show for jpeg and tiff

    Open link in New Window

    Open Link in New Tab

    Download Llinked File As...

    Copy Link to Clipboard

    Add Link to Bookmarks...

    Open Image in New Window

    Open Image in New Tab

    Copy Image to Clipboard

Gif's only allowed the bottom 4 options dealing with Images

Actually, that only depends if it is a link or not.
