USB Keys

With the new and cheaper USB keys coming out, I was thinking about investing in one...between the files that I take to school and home makes me really think...hey...that's a better idea than the untrusty internet server that my school has...but...I was wondering:

1)Do they install any programs on there...or are they just 'plug-n-play'?

2)Transferring files between Windows XP Pro (At school) and soon-to-be my Powerbook with Office installed (Word, Excel, PPT) is that easily compatible between a USB key as easy as it might be from downloading a word document off of a site or something?

Thanks |

I have two Lexars a 128mb and a 512mb both were plug and play and work on Macs, Windows, and Linux with no issues.
