I'm sure there is something really simple I'm not doing but I would love to know how to make use of the widescreen display to play a dvd using the entire screen. For some reason putting DVDplayer in fullscreen mode does not seem to do the trick.

Thanks.

How are you getting onto full screen. Try pressing "command zero". What are you actually getting?

Ok if I hit Command Zero, the whole screen is taken up by the DVDPlayer App, but the movie is not occupying corner to corner, instead there are large black borders on all four sides. If this was an mpg it would make more sense, but because this is a widescreen dvd to begin with, I am confused.

This is certainly weird. I've never seen something like this before. What DVD are you trying to play? Does this happen with all DVDs or only some?

This happens on some DVD's. I think it has to do with widescreen and fullscreen being on the same disc. I wish there was some way to get it to fill the whole screen. For me this happens on "Top Gun". It works on most widescreen dvds.

    Hi everyone,

it is very easy in OSX,

    Command & F = Full Screen

    Command & 1 = Normal Size

    Command & 2 = Double Size

Command & 3 = Full Screen with QT Player Window

also the controls work, (Command & 1, 2 or 3) while you are in Full Screen Mode

Command & F = back to Normal Size

Command & W = Closes the Front Window of QT Player

    Command & Q = Quits QT Player

    hope this helps
