DVD burn-speed question
okay, i bought a pioneer 8x DVD writer a few months ago. the one piece of 8x rated piodata dvd-r burned at a full 8x fromt he finder. howevere, i have not been able to duplicate that feat ever since. all other 8x rated media insists on burning at 4x. the drive is in an external oxford 911 titan enclosure (looks sweet, i must say), pretty basic stuff.
so, any idea why i got the first one to work, but none since? is there a firmware update i should apply? are all dvd-r's not made equal?

i havent really had the same experience, but i have noticed that my stock pioneer 8X DVD burner on the G5 only shows a couple minutes difference between 8X and 4X. Either way, its still fast as sh*t. 10 minutes or less for a full DVD is pretty awesome.
