Post 'em here. I ordered a 1GHz PowerBook G4 without the SuperDrive as a custom build. Apple's page says 5-7 days availability. Other people have probably got other configurations. Post 'em and let us know when they're shipping! - DH

Ordered new iBook 800 with 640mb ram, 30 gig hd and airport card. Ordered today from MacMall. It will be here tomorrow..I had it overnighted.

By the way..The rep. at MacMall said that I had gotten the 3rd from the last. He said they sold the entire lot in a 1 1/2 days. They were getting a new shipment in tonight. Man I sure hate that Apple is going down the tubes like everyone says.

I ordered an 800MHz, 40Gb HD, 640Mb RAM, 14.1" iBook with the optical drive downgraded to a CD-ROM so I could buy the external LaCie (sp?) firrewire 48x burner. The burner shipped today, haven't gotten notification from Apple about my iBook yet. said 3-5 days. I ordered it on the 6th roughly 10 hours after the update. Here's hoping it comes soon! Anyone kow where they ship from? I live in Az, if that helps at all.

How often are you going to burn DVDs? I personally don't need that in a laptop. Plus the combo drive speeds are slightly better (still not sure how much that matters). Also, and most importantly, I was at the end of my rope waiting for this update. I can't afford to wait 3-4 more weeks. 5-7 days is my max (looking like its going to be less).

    My Ghz/1GB/combo is being assembled.

For me, buying the superdrive is a waste, since I have a few on some DP800s and a DPGhz here at work. $2357 (my price after tax) was a perfect price and gives me everything I need.

$2357? I guess you didn't go for the 60gb. Paid $2417 including tax for mine Ghz/1GB/Combo/60g. I think the ADC is the best deal anyone can get

    Student prices.

My gig/combo shipped today as well. So 2 day express it should be here Wednesday as FedEx's website doesn't show it, so they must've gotten it after hours.

I ordered the top model PB WITH superdrive. I will be waiting 3-4 weeks for this but i think it is very worth it. I will need to burn DVDs once in a while for the animations i make (im a college student by the way). so i really want a dvd burner, but i cant spend too much money. getting an external dvd drive will cost me like $400-$500 extra, im not gonna spend that much when i could get one for less. also external drives dont work with iDVD, which means spending more $$$ on software... so the choice is clear for me, plus, having an internal dvd drive in that little thing rocks. cant wait to get it!!
