Replace CD-RW in G4 tower

Can I use any brand of IDE CD-RW drive in a G4 Tower, or will I run into driver issues?

    As far as I know, you should be able to use any IDE CD-RW. Where it gets complicated is if you want to add/replace a DVD-RW (Superdrive). They would have to be a certain brand to be recognized as a Superdrive (and work with iDVD). Hope this helps.
