HELP: Only 1/2 RAM Recognized on new iBook

Hi,



A couple of weeks ago, I installed a 512MB RAM module on my new iBook. At the time, the computer recognized the module as 512MB (total=768MB). Now, the computer only recognizes the module as 256MB (total=512MB). Has anyone had this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it? I've tried reinstalling the RAM, but the problem persists.

    some mobos only address a certain amount on the chip.. apparently you have one of those.

    I would send the ram back if you still can.

    its prolly a geil ram chip

    i had the same problem



    swap it for a kingston 512mb & it will work fine
