Hi there.

I need to know how to transfer the hard drive of Mac OS X v. 10.2.8 (processor 500 mhz, Model power Pc G3, Memory 640, Number processor 1) to a Mac OS X v. 10.3.5 (processor 2GHz DDR SDRAM, Model Power Mac G5, Memory 512, Number processor 2).

Can you help me????

This is the first time that i am using a forum and hope that all the info you need is here.

    You'll need a firewire cable.

    Just follow the directions here:

Can this be done on Macs w/ non-built-in FW?

I have a beige that is slowly dying.

To transfer data, yes, with both machines booted.

To boot the older one in target disk mode for 100% safe transfer of system prefs, etc, no.

Using the Setup Assistant, will this transfer over things like iTunes library (and de-authorize the old Mac and authorize the new one) and iPhoto library?
