Yes, APP for iPod covers battery replacement if your battery supplies less than 50% of advertised performance.
I'd buy it if you've got a 40GB iPod or an iPod photo.
Your battery will surely wear out within two years, if nothing else goes wrong.
I bought my 40GB iPod in October 2003. I bought APP for it in October 2004. Assuming nothing else goes wrong, it's getting a new battery in October 2005.
I'm 99% sure I'll buy a 20GB one. Is it worth it for that?
I don't think so. By the time your battery wears out, I bet you'll be itching for a bigger or newer iPod. And your resale value won't be all that much better with APP.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I'll probably want to buy a new one within 1 1/2 to 2 years anyway. For the iMac though, it makes sense.

I simply believe I will buy a new iPod before the 3 year warranty is up.

It's only 2 years though.
