NV6800GT intro'ed - No fanfare??
Sorry if I missed this elsewhere, but the G5 page of the UK Apple store now lists the 6800GT card as a 300 pound option on the G5, when did that happen? Is is a single slot card? Does it have the Dual link DVI connectors too? If that would be pretty cool (literally) as I've heard the 6800 Ultra sounds like a vacuum cleaner.

from: here (not sure if that link will die, just go to the apple store, select a g5. while configuring it, select the more info link from the graphics card section)
Both the GeForece 6800 Ultra and GT GPUs are built on an AGP 8X board and include 256MB of GDDR3 memory for use in the most demanding graphics applications. Both cards support the DVI standard dual link digital signal specification on each of the two DVI ports that are included. This capability is required to drive the new Apple Cinema HD display the first high-resolution 30-inch LCD. The combination of a GeForce 6800 Ultra or GT DDL with a dual processor Power Mac G5 driving two 30-inch Apple Cinema HD Displays is the definitive tool for the creative professional. Special note on the NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra DDL and GEForce 6800 GT DDL: due to larger size of these advanced graphics card, the available PCI or PCI-X slots will be reduced to two slots from three.
both cards take up 2 slots and both can power upto two 30" displays.
Both DVI outputs on the Ultra are dual link so it can support two 30" displays simultaneously!!

The GT has 2 DVI outputs but only one is a dual-link DVI (ie. actually uses all the pins on the DVI connector). therefore the GT can only support a single 30" screen and another regular screen (ie. 23" and below).

The GT has two dual link DVI outs, so can support two 30" displays (or is Apple not being honest?)...
The NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT DDL graphics upgrade kit delivers industry leading CineFX 3.0 technology providing unprecedented special effects to be processed in real-time. It features 256MB of GDDR3 SDRAM and two DVI connectors that each support dual link digital signal bandwidth.

as the DaveLee mentioned, this is not what is stays on apple's site. both cards are meant to support upto 2 30" displays.
once again apple claims:
Both cards support the DVI standard dual link digital signal specification on each of the two DVI ports that are included
is anyone going to an applestore anytime soon? maybe an employee can confirm this.
