How would PB667 compare to iMac700
I have the 15" G4 iMac, but now need/want the portability of a laptop.
I'm beginning to see some pretty aggressive pricing on the older DVI 667 Powerbook.
Given the decreased speed of 33mHz, how do you think the two would compare?
I figure the PB has these advantages:
1) 133 bus vs. 100
2) higher screen res
3) better video card?
What do you guys think?

Don't even hesitate about the powerbook buy.Just buy it!!

Okay then....which one.
PB 667 or PB800
Would you spring $400 more for the PB800?
I believe it has double the RAM plus an Airport card (which I'm not sure I'll use, but possibly in the future)
I think a lot of people are underestimating the new iBooks...they are a great price and the new specs put them right near the old powerbooks, for much less. (Plus the new Radeon 7500 video card in the iBooks will allow monitor spanning; if not out of the box then through a hack)

Thanks for your advice. I have often and still long for a iBook because of it's ruggedness. Unfortunately, Apple's wisdom to cripple the video spanning (i'm not comfortable to hack), and the poor resolution on the 14" model, leaves me looking at a higher priced Powerbooks.
Now I just laugh.
(and wish I had some spending money...)
The PPC has been a disaster for Apple these last two years, and they will need PPC970 performance across both desktop lines and the pro portables to even begin to adress the inadequacies of their current price-performance.
not going to buy another Apple until they get their act together, this will never happen if you guys keep buying their current crap.

Just because you said that I have ordered a brand new PowerBook G4
Seriously, if you call the current PowerBooks crap you need to have your head examined - make a reservation for Matsu at the doctor too, while you're at it. please...

Ok, ok, how about we ban Apple products .... I love OSX, just not going to buy another Apple until they get their act together, this will never happen if you guys keep buying their current crap.

As much as I'd like for this to wake Apple up, it'll actually do the opposite. Probably to the effect of bringing marketshare to 1%.
I'm frustrated in Apple's lack of power (however not quite like Matsu )
But after 20 years of doing things the Mac way, there's too much of an investment to switch to PC's.
However, I have slowed down purchase decisions always hoping for Apple to quit pussy footing around and start offering so serious value.
