phillips 8x burner wont work in powermac g3 blue and white - help?

hi , i have a phillips cd burner model PCRW804, it shows up as that in the apple system profiler, and apple system profiler even see's it as a phillips cdrw, but it wont let me burn through disc burner or through itunes, if anyone could help with this working i would love it as putting it in was not the easiest thing in the world.

    Does the Apple System Profiler actually say Disc Burning Fully supported (assuming you're using OS X) ?

    says "not supported" in the ASP, i got toast for jaguar and it works fine with the burner, i was just hoping there was a way to get it to work with itunes somehow.
