AFP invalid username/password error

I installed OS 10.3.4 on G4. This is a fresh installationon a new HDD. If iwant to connect to any other machine on my network or any appleshare folder using AFP it is not prompting me to enter username/password and instead it is giving invalid username/password.I can connect to the same machine/server using SMB without any issue. Appletalk is active.



any suggestions.
