No, i think alot of things have been moved around to make room for it. I have a theory that the airbort is built in as you can not buy a superdrive model without airport.

the video card is quite improved so an upgrade might be worth it. How old is your Ti

<a href="http://store.powerbook1.com/mcepowg4cdco.html"; target="_blank">MCE</a> has an upgrade to the current 8x Combo Drive for older G4 PowerBooks (for $330 I'm doing it), so I see no reason why they won't offer the SuperDrive upgrade some time in the future. It seems like about a 6 month lag from when the new drive debuts to when an upgrade is offered.

The Airport area of the computer is on the opposite side of the Combo/Superdrive area.

I think it could be a worthy upgrade for any Ti, all I keep seeing is (near) 5 gig's of backup, not to mention all the creative DVD/video fun you could have.

Have you looked at external DVD solutions? Not as cool as having an internal - but will you be burning DVD's on the road? CD's sure.. dunno about DVD's though.

Apples DVD drive will burn at 2x but if a lot load upgrade is offered it is expected to be a 1X drive.

    (expectedf from industry analysts)
