I am looking to buy a PDA with bluetooth. I do not care if it has a phone but bluetooth would be great. I am not sure what to look for in a PDA as I have never had one before. I like the treo but it does not seem to supoport mac. So I am looking at palms now. HELP! <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

The Treos do in fact support the Mac. I have a Treo 90, and it works just fine with my iBook.

If you want built-in Bluetooth, your only option is the Palm Tungsten T. If you're willing to add a card, the Sony's handhelds or any Palm or Handspring with an SD slot can take a Bluetooth card (not sure if they're shipping yet).

Any Palm or Handspring will play nice with the Mac. The Sonys require some extra software called "the Missing Sync" if you want all the features supported.

    No.

To be quite honest, I actually own three Newtons, and I love them to death. I was in Best Buy the other day and took a look at the Sony Clié NX60, and oh my... what a beautiful little device. It is bigger than the Tungsten T and other traditional Palm looking PDAs... but it has a great color screen, virtual graffiti, keyboard, can be used as a tablet hiding the keyboard. It's pretty close to the Newton in terms of form factor.

Suffice it to say, I'll be purchasing one for myself this Christmas.

The best PDA for a Mac really depends on what is the best PDA for *you*. You can get PocketPCs and Palms to sync on a Mac I believe... and as mentioned above, any Palm with an SD slot can do BlueTooth. The Cliés can do Bluetooth with a Memory Stick card I believe. You should take a hard look at all the PDAs and decide what you want out of it and which is the best fit for you.
