Firewire card and Sleep issues

Well, now that I have the need for more than the 2 firewire ports on my MDD dual 1.25 PMac, I bought a 3-port Firewire PCI card (Adaptec). Everything seemed to work just fine, albeit I've just realized my computer won't go to sleep with the firewire card installed, regardless of devices being connected to it or not. I have read elsewhere that there is an issue with Firewire (or USB) cards and towers not being able to sleep under 10.X.X

Any news on this front? Is there a particular model of Firewire card that supports sleep?

Thanks.

Hmmm... am I the only one with this Firewire/USB pci cards problem? Does anybody know if Tiger will fix this? I just tried to add an USB 2.0 card to my Mac listed above, with the exact same problem. Hellooooooooooo?

Don't know what to suggest, but I had similar problems when I added a USB2.0 card to my old 400MHz AGP Graphics tower. I've since sold that tower though. Good luck!
