unable to send mail
I'm receiving mail without any problems, but when I try to send or reply from the Mail app I get:
"The SMTP server ?smtp.mac.com? rejected the password for user..." despite re-entering it over and over. I can send messages through webmail fine, but not through Mail. This has only begun since I've been away from home the last week.

It's likely that wherever you are, you may be required to use that network's SMTP server to send mail. It's a fairly common practice among service providers now. If you know what network you're on, you can probably look up in their help pages to find out what SMTP server to use.
