ibook 1ghz was really 1.2ghz?

A post in this forum a few months ago claimed that the 1GHZ ibook was really a 1.2GHZ, with it being underclocked to keep a gap to the Powerbooks. This post was made before the 1.2GHZ ibooks even came out.
Does anyone know if that information was correct? That post also claimed that they were told, by friends within Apple, how to clock it at the proper 1.2 GHZ speed. Does anyone know how this would be done?
