I just started using Privoxy

http://www.privoxy.org/

Is there a very simple way to set it as "medium" rather than the default setting? Please keep in mind that I am a unix fumblefingers. Thanks.

Edited: I have already read the documentation and tried the web configuration tool at Privoxy's site. The problem is the new configuration does not "take" even after several reboots. Maybe it's only for Windows?

What settings are you trying to add?

Only add sites to block/unblock to your user.add.

I can send you my config files. The thing to watch for is making sure your are adding sites you want to block or unblock to the right place, otherwise you will unblock sites you do not wish to see, etc.

If I am reading the docs right (not a sure thing), Privoxy has three preconfigured settings (cautious, medium, and adventuresome):

If I press the "edit" button on "Editing Actions File default.action", I get those three choices. If I press "medium" button, nothing happens when I view the settings the next time. Still "cautious" or default or standard. I must be doing something wrong, but I can't figure it out. The privoxy docs say it might take a couple of log-offs or restarts to get the setting changed. I've done that, but still the same.

Edited: Never mind, I was way off base.
