I am the root user, yet why do I not have access to my Documents folder?

today I installed Loops for Soundtrack.

I am yet to get them to work in Soundtrack tho, while trying to figure out the problem I found that when the loops were installed, they were put in the Hard Drive > Documents folder (not the Users Documents folder)... but there is a reb and white forbidden icon on the folder, and when I double click on it it tells me that I do not have sufficient priviliges to access the folder. But this is my computer, there are no other users.... and when I installed the loops I had to enter my System password... so why am I unable to access the Hard Drive > Documents folder?

I am trying to determine why the loops are not working.... so if you also know that answer, help me out.

EDIT > And I have already verified and repaired permissions.

Well, those were installed in the wrong place altogether. You didn't run a Classic installer by mistake, did you? Or choose that folder by accident?

No, I just hit okay during the install process. How can I find out what exactly is in that folder?

EDIT > If I do a search, will it tell me if something is in there? Or will it not because I don't have access to it?

I did a get info on the folder and under my priviliges it had 'System' listed as the owner... so I changed that to myself and I was then able to access the folder.

    Thanks.
