So, I am the administrator on my machine, and my wife is a user. Sometimes it asks for the admin's password if she wants to install a program. Can this be bypassed?



Is there any way to change someone else to bo the admin? Is there any way to change the "short name" on an account?

    nope, even admins are asked for a password to install programs.

    to make her account an admin account just check 'allow user to administer this computer' in the security options of your wife's account.
