data speeds on airport

is the airport as fast as an actual lead pluged into my cable modem box?..or slower?

Your cable modem is the bottleneck there, so it won't make a difference.

Nearly all cable modems are physically limited to a 10 Mbps connection, but actual connection speeds are far lower, usually around 2 Mbps. AirPort transmits data at up to 11 Mbps.

any significant problems if i share the connection between 3-6 computers?

My DSL connection is about 80 kps download. I share it among my laptop, G4@450 and my son's cheap as heck homebrew AMD and my desktop PC.
There are no problems, we have internet and printing from anywhere in the house. It is wonderful.

My DSL connection is about 80 kps download. I share it among my laptop, G4@450 and my son's cheap as heck homebrew AMD and my desktop PC.
There are no problems, we have internet and printing from anywhere in the house. It is wonderful.
