RAM and graphics...
Hey guys. Yet another videocard question from me.
This may be a stupid question, but how much would 1024MB of RAM put into my PowerBook help game and graphics performance? (You can see my computer specs in my signature) Also, as a side question, how much of a difference would there be between my PowerBook videocard and the 1GHz PowerBook with the 64MB videocard---would you see a significant difference? Thank you, and happy new year! <img src="graemlins/smokin.gif" border="0" alt="[Chilling]" />

Pumping as much RAM into your PB as possible will definitely help overall system performance. More RAM will also give you a boost in gaming performance, but AFAIK, it's hard to tell how much, since there are other determining factors (namely, system bus speed, graphics card, CPU speed) that affect game performance. YMMV.
As for the question of graphics performance of your 867 Mhz Ti vs. the 1 Ghz model, I suppose you could get some idea of the performance boost from 64 MB VRAM vs. 32 MB from the numbers posted here:

This is an interesting side-by-side comparison of the current Ghz and 867 Mhz PB's vs. other recent models of Apple desktops and portables. I wouldn't take these benchmarks as the gospel truth, but they're good approximations as to how well they perform relative to recent Apple offerings.
