mac mini and audio input

it's pretty jacked that there's neither a built-in microphone nor a regular mic/line in on the mac minis, no? people need to buy a cursed usb microphone to discover the wonders of voice chatting? I guess that's why the isight is the 'eyes and ears of ichat av'
