Mac Mini - Are they shipping yet?

I am one of the many people that were bringing the Apple Store to a grinding hault trying to order my Mac Mini as soon as it came back online after Steve ended his Key Note.

At the time of purchase the Apple Store as we all know was promissing a delivery date of Jan. 22nd (this Saturday) and sometime the following day they changed it to a 3-4 week delay.

Now, since then my order status on the Apple Store shows an expected "ship" date of "on or before 1/21" I have been calling the Apple Store to try and get more info on the shipping date but I keep getting mixed answers, Yesterday I was told it would ship out by the end of the day, This morning I was told it may ship today or tomorrow...It was confirmed that they will (as we all expected) would be shipping from their over seas plants.

Has any one else placed an order for a Mac Mini that shows as it has shipped yet?

I am starting to believe more and more that it will not arrive by the promised date of 1/22 (especially seeing as how the 22nd is a Saturday and I don't see them paying extra for saturday shipping).

Normally I can contain my excitement, but in this instance I have sold my older machine on eBay with the thought and timing that I would recieve my Mac Mini by the end of the week...so if it doent arrive until next week I will be with out a machine (which I use for work).

It just gave me severe working-for-retail and working-in-shipping/warehousing flashbacks.

Got a note from Apple this evening that mine has shipped. I expect it Thursday, the 20th via two-day shipping, although it could be Friday. Anyone know where Shenzhen CN is? That's where it's coming from.

Thanks. No, I'm not kidding. That's what the FedEx tracking says. I'll be amazed if it gets here on Thursday, but I did pay for two-day shipping. 18th to 20th = two days.

I really don't know how they do it. They must have transporter beams. Yeah, that's it!

Apple flies in their products from China. Ships take far too long. yes it's added to the overall price of the Mac.

The logistics are amazing. It's gotta go from plane to plane to truck to truck before it gets to your door, without a second wasted. Even two days is impressive, never mind 24 hours!

It always takes 2 days for me. However, that isn't that bad. Actually, it doesn't take a full 2 days, since China is many hours ahead of me.

Once my iMac left Shanghai China, it was here in under 24 hours. I was like you. Thinking there was no way they would get it here on time. I was wrong!

I to got my email from the apple store last night 10:00pm EST alerting me that my Mac Mini had shipped. I checked the tracking # imediatly on FedEx's website but of course there were no details listed. I called apple this moring about 10 min ago (10:00am) and they still had no details on it. Could not even tell me what way it was shipping or if I could still expect to have it before weeks end.

I will hold my breath and hopefully it will arrive on Friday as promised (well the 22nd...but I doubt its going out for a Saturday Delivery).

    A little update:

I called FedEx and gave them the tracking number although the agent could not give me any info on the package she did tell me that it was shipping via FedEx Express. So for all of you that chose the free shipping method as I did Apple (I assume in the intrest to get it here by the promised date of Jan 22nd) is shipping them all from over seas via FedEx Express.

The agent said that its usually a next day service, but could take 2 to 3 days.
