    Hmmmmm first thoughts are "It won't happen" let's read the article and see the points.

    I definitely see his point but I'm wondering if right now is really the time. AVC/h.264 is very processor intensive compared to MPEG2. It'll be a few years before most of the Mac faithful have a computer that can sling AVC around with ease.

    Bandwidth is another. I think for movie downloads to be successful broadband users will need to have something along the lines of a 6Mbps download.

    Then there's the DRM issue. $.99 are one thing but $18.99 are quite another. The DRM is going to have to be far more draconian for the MPAA to agree to allow digital downloads.

    I'm thinking that these issues and more will conspire to cause the price of downloads to $3+ and that isn't going to cut it for those of use happy with Netflix/Blockbuster/Walmart and other mailing services
