Getting rid of the shaded area around the dock icons

Is there anyway to make the shaded (semi-transparent) area around the dock icons go clear and become invisible?
I would like to see that shade gone.

i use this program:
Transparent Dock
it's awesome, and has a lot of other features as well.

Your other option is the free
ClearDock
, a small APE module.

you can also use the limited version of transparent dock to do what you want to do for free(it's hardly limited at all, actually, i mean, if you buy it, you can speed up or slow down the animations...whoopee)
