Setting up Folder View Options

In OSX, is it possible to set up the default folder options? I want all my folders to be viewed in the list mode (middle view button) and arranged by folder type. I've tried going into the 'View Options' whilst in the list mode and selecting 'all folders' but everytime I create a new folder it opens in icon mode.

How do I do set this up?

* Always list mode

* Arranged by 'kind'

Thanks

    You can't. OS X doesn't have that option. You can click Finder in the menu then go to general and make sure open new windows in column view is not ticked but that is the closest you can get.
