Steve said what?

I have just caught up on the January Popular Science, which has an article, which at this point seems trite, about digital media restrictions. The article said that

Quote:

Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple and of the animation studio Pixar, told studio heads and tech leaders in a private meeting that studios shouldn?t release anything for the DVD-HD format until they get a promise that recorders will never appear in a PC.

WOW, has Steve turned his back on us? While it may seem like overkill now to be able to burn 15+ GB, we should have the right, and memory needs always expand. Just think of what we thought were acceptable HD sized 3 years ago. Not to mention who wants to buy a stand alone box, not people who value their computers as "digital hubs" you can link to the article here

We've discussed it here before. Search and you'll find some comments. I don't take this as much more than posturing from Jobs. Remember he's a marketer not a techie. Apple cannot stem the tide of HD-DVD or Blu Ray. They are too insignifant to dictate things like this.
