internal modem of ibook 1.2

I use my modem at work,

sometimes when I click 'connect' at the manual bar, it disconnects itself,

but the disconnection takes forever and i cant connect again until I restart the ibook.

i tried activity monitor to see what is behind this, but forced quitting the modem does not stop the disconnecting process to end.



any idea? thanks.
