I was using my powerbook this morning, it got very slow all of a sudden, so i turned it off and restarted it.

then I got this:

Panic(cpu 0): Unable to find driver for this platform:¡§PowerBook6,2"

¡K¡K.

Kernel version:

Darwin Kernel Version 7.7.0:

Panic: We are hanging here¡K

I tried to boot from the OS X restore Disc and ran the Disk Utility repair...it failed

then I tried to reinstall OS X, It stopped when it asked me to "select a Destination vloume to install the Mac OS X", but I didn't see any options! Is my hard drive dead?

I couldn't even boot into single user mode (Command+S) or Safe mode....

I tried the Apple Hardware tests, the results are all fine.

then I tried to boot my powerbook into target disk mode with another powerbook, but othing appeared on the desktop. why is that?

I don't have 3rd party ram or external hard drive..

what should I do now?? I have very important data in my computer

if anyone knows, please reply me!! thanks!!

What happend when you tried to boot into "sum"?

did the black screen appear? Did some white letters

show up? Or did it just halt and you thought nothing would

    happen any more?

BTW weird message indeed. Did you tinker a little bit around

with some sudo commands, or did it just... happen?

Assuming it is some weird software glitch, i would

reset PR-ram. --> Boot up, hold CMD-ALT-P-R. The computer

boots and reboots immediately, hold these keys

until you have heard the booting sound 3 times.

    (3 times rebooting after rebooting)

    Release the keys.

If the computer is booting up normaly, than perhaps

    that procedere fixed something.

If not than boot up while holding the keys CMD-ALT-O-F

A white window should pop up.

Type in exactly, which is set bold:

    reset-nvram hit return

    reset-all hit return

    The computer should reboot immediately.

If the computer is booting up normaly, than perhaps

    that procedere fixed something.

Well, if not, than i don't no either, sorry.
